I remember always going to see Henry Rollins do his spoken word tours and being inspired about his stories and life motto. Travel the world, be creative- play music, draw or paint. Today's Episode we have Sam "Sledge Hammer" Bastin on the podcast. We met in 2016 when i was training at the amazing Tiger Muay Thai Gym ( I recommend everyone go and do some training here as a part of your Phuket Holiday) Sam originally from Australia now residing in Phuket Thailand, is a professional Boxer and MMA fighter. With a Boxing record of 8-0-1 and MMA record of 8-8, this athlete is on his way to bigger and better things. Some of the biggest names in UFC and Martial Arts and all inspiring athlete's are coming to Tiger Muay Thai to learn the trade. Sam has also had pro boxing matches and coached internationally.
Here we talk about growing up near Taree Australia, the state of boxing in Australia, Why does he have 1 loss in his pro boxing career, Why he calls Phuket home now, coaching and boxing overseas, why the name, what can expect from training at Tiger Muay Thai and some very interesting stories about his career as a pro boxer/MMA.
