Syren - Shanghai based Alternative Metal band

Episode 125 - On the night of Syren's Album Release Show, I sat down with Thomas- Guitarist and Steven- Drums. The band is currently on tour in China promoting their new album “Manifest.” They have played in Guangzhou, Beijing, Xi’an, and this weekend will perform at the popular Shanghai Calling festival. 

The 2 songs we heard on the podcast were Emile and Maria, both from the new album. The band formed in late 2020 and have released animated film clips on board the RMS White Star, and have also released acoustic versions of the songs on the EP “Marooned”. Syren is led by the powerful vocals of Aika, and the band has a lot of energy on stage. Plans for the future are to record and release a new 20-track rock opera album. Syren is- Aika - Vocals, Thomas- Guitarist, Steven- Drums, Mickey- Bass.

Tim Williams - Australia - Creator Of SC Playbook (NRL Supercoach)

Please welcome to the podcast the Creator of the SC Playbook NRL business, Tim Williams. Tim was born in Cooma Australia where he grew up in a sporting family. Tim's brother Sam Williams played for the Canberra Raiders NRL team. He graduated from Wollongong University and worked with The Daily Telegraph in Sydney. and It was here where he formed a passion for playing Rugby League Super Coach. As I said before, I also play Super Coach and it is so addictive once you understand the game. Tim came 2nd overall in the 2020 season.

He created his own business SC Playbook to help players win the major prize of $50,000. They give an in depth analysis of things NRL Super Coach. As of today SC Playbook also includes AFL and Cricket and has 4 podcasts which gives their fans all the latest updates for Super Coach players and subscribers.

Sophie De Quay and Simon Jaccard - Switzerland - International Recording Artist

Episode 123- Recorded live from the Swiss Grand Hotel in Shanghai, please welcome to the podcast the amazingly talented musical group Sophie De Quay and Simon Jaccard. Both born in Switzerland, now residing in France, Sophie De Quay have just kicked off their China tour and I was lucky enough to see perform live at the CITIC Rooftop in Shanghai. They are playing songs from they latest album Y which was released in 2021 and have the single- "Burning Bridges and Rooftop.

The Ambassador of Switzerland in Beijing announced this tour on National TV in China saying they are his favourite musical artist. Sophie De Quay also performed with the Chinese Choir in France singing songs in Chinese.

Sophie De Quay started in 2016 and have toured the world, performing in 14 different countries and playing over 300 shows. They will release a new album in Autumn and will continue to do festival shows in Europe. Sophie and Simon tell some amazing and inspiring road stories.

Rene Walter - USA - CEO of Sanre Entertainment Group.

Episode 122 - Doing this podcast live at the famous Hey Day Jazz Club in Shanghai, Its a pleasure to welcome the Co- Founder and CEO of Sanre Entertainment Rene Walter. Rene has recently come back from Singapore, promoting The Doobie Brothers 50 Years Anniversary Concert. Born In St Louis USA, Rene was a lead vocalist in bands that won band competition before moving to LA to continue his music career.

But it was his passion for being a Manager for Entertainers and focus his group in Asia, which was a life changing move. He saw Journey play in the USA and later signed Lead Vocalist Arnel Pineda. Arnel and Rene have formed a great partnership with Sanre Entertainment Group. Rene was also manager of Australian born and one of the best guitarist in the world Orianthi. (She was Michael Jackson's Lead Guitarist for his potential last tour.)  

Rene is regarded by his peers as one of the best managers in the Entertainment Industry and his talent have nothing but love and respect for his work. Here we talk about Sanre Streaming, meeting Arnel Pineda, creating a band comp for Asian bands, Journey's Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, creating a new app, building new studios and a theatre in China, getting the Purple Rain album from Prince and many great stories.

Part 1- Dave Leslie - Australia - Platinum Recording Artist /Guitarist of Baby Animals

Its an absolute honour to welcome to the podcast founding member of arguably the biggest Australian rock band in the early 90's, and one of my all time favourite bands, Guitarist Dave Leslie. (The first album I ever bought was Baby Animals). Dave was born in Sydney Australia, he learnt guitar at the early age before playing in some local bands. He formed the Cold Chisel tribute band Swing Shift and gained a large following.

After trying out for Rose Tattoo, he was later asked to try out for a new band with Suzi DeMarchi on vocals. Soon after they formed Baby Animals and brought out their debut self titled album. The album went x4 Platinum and went Number 1 in the ARIA Charts. The band won 3 ARIA Awards- Best Debut Single "Early Warning" , Best Debut Album, Best Break Through Band. The band toured the world with Bryan Adams, Van Halen and Robert Plant.

Baby Animals broke up in 1996 and Dave then played guitar for Australian Rock Icons- Jimmy Barnes and Richard Clapton. The band reformed in 2007 to the high anticipated reunion tour. Adrian Gomez - USA - President of Middle Kingdom Wrestling (MKW China)

Episode 119 - Please welcome to the podcast, Founder of the Independent Pro Wrestling company Middle Kingdom Wrestling (MKW) in China, Adrian Gomez. Born in the USA, Adrian has been attending the WWF / WWE, WCW and Independent pro wrestling since a young age. It wasn't until 2010 that he decided to make the move to Harbin China.

After meeting other promoters and talent, he decided to create his promotion MKW Wrestling and the first live event was June 2015. Since then they have grown a fan base and continue to bring new talent through the training centre in Shanghai and international talent. Kiva Sun - China - Singer /Song Writer / Recording Artist

Episode 118- Please welcome to the podcast the talented and beautiful vocalist, Kiva Sun. Born and raised in Shanghai China. She is the new up and coming star in the Shanghai music scene. Kiva attended the JZ School in Shanghai where she was taught by some of the best Jazz Musicians in China. I was lucky enough to see her first performance at the JZ Club where she arranged all the music for the band. The future is bright for Kiva and her plans are to record a new album full of original music.

At the end of the podcast Kiva sings a small part of an original and shows us her vocal ability.
